Plumpton under threat

Tomorrow’s meeting at Plumpton will need to pass a 7.30am inspection due to the threat of heavy rain.

Significant rain overnight has fallen and is due to continue until mid-afternoon, however the forecast is better for tomorrow.

“We had a lovely drying day yesterday but it started raining after midnight and 13mm had fallen before 7am,” said clerk of the course Mark Cornford.

“It is still raining now but it is forecast to clear by this afternoon and it should stay dry after that.

“We’ll give it every chance.”
