Green light for Southwell

This afternoon’s National Hunt meeting at Southwell will go ahead as scheduled.

After an initial inspection at midday yesterday a second check was called for 8am.

However, after a mild night clerk of the course Roderick Duncan saw no need to wait that long.

“We’re racing,” he said.

“The improvement we have seen in the last 48 hours has been amazing.

“There is still some snow around the car parks from Sunday but there is no frost in the track and the racing line is perfectly fine.”
