Fakenham call third inspection

Officials at Fakenham will stage a third inspection at 11.30am to decide whether this afternoon’s meeting will go ahead.

An inspection was called for 7am but after overnight snow a decision was taken to look again at 10am.

Clerk of the course David Hunter is pleased to report conditions are improving, but wants to check the track later in the morning to give the meeting every chance.

He said: “We’re going to have another look at 11.30am and things have definitely improved.

“If we thought we weren’t in with a chance we would have knocked in on the head now, so we’re keeping our fingers crossed.”

The first race is scheduled for 1.35pm.
