Ayr abandoned

Friday’s meeting at Ayr has been abandoned due to a frozen track.

Officials at the Scottish track announced a midday inspection to determine the prospects of racing after overnight temperatures dipped to around minus 5C.

Clerk of the course Hazel Peplinski admitted prospects were bleak and was left with no option but to call off proceedings, with conditions showing no signs of improvement.
