Folkestone check

Officials at Folkestone are optimistic about their chances of racing on Tuesday despite calling a precautionary inspection at 7.30am.

Clerk of the course Andrew Waitt will check the track in the morning but is very hopeful of the fixture going ahead.

He said: “We had a frost last night but the temperature is forecast to go up to 4C today so hopefully the frost will come out of the ground.

“The forecast is for 1C overnight and if that is correct, we shouldn’t have a problem, but we thought it best to check. We’re pretty hopeful of racing.”
