Monday’s meeting at Ludlow has been abandoned due to a combination of frost and snow.

Clerk of the course Bob Davies had called an inspection for 12pm today but has been able to make an early decision after temperatures plummeted to as low as minus 9C overnight.

“We’ve had to abandon as we got down to minus 9C overnight and it was still minus 5C at 8am this morning,” said Davies.

“The snow we had obviously hasn’t moved and there is still up to an inch in places, so I couldn’t stand here and say we had any chance.

“There is no point messing people around and we’ve decided to make an early decision.”
