Punchestown inspect

Tomorrow’s meeting at Punchestown will have to pass a precautionary inspection at 7.30am if it is to go ahead as scheduled.

Although conditions are currently raceable, any substantial rain overnight could prove a problem for the Co Kildare venue.

Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone said: “They are fine at the moment and although the ground is heavy they are perfectly raceable.

“They are forecasting 10mm of rain overnight and if that’s all they get then they should be fine, but you never know how much will come and it is better to be safe than sorry.”
