No worries at Leopardstown
This afternoon’s meeting at Leopardstown has been given the go-ahead following a morning inspection.
Officials at the Dublin venue needed to assess conditions as a severe frost had been forecast.
And although overnight temperatures plummeted, the fixture was still given the thumbs-up.
“Everything is fine and racing goes ahead,” reported Irish Turf Club press officer Cliff Noone.
“It definitely got cold overnight, but there are no problems and the ground remains yielding.”
Day three of Leopardstown’s Christmas meeting features the Lexus Chase at 2.35pm.
