Dial-A-Bet gold for Golden Silver

The Willie Mullins-trained Golden Silver claimed the scalp of Tranquil Sea in the Grade One Paddy Power Dial-A-Bet Chase at Leopardstown.

Sent off at 5-2 on the back of a successful return at Cork, the seven-year-old took it up five fences from home when leader Watson Lake began to back-pedal.

Tranquil Sea, the 11-10 favourite, went with him, and may even have headed him between the last two obstacles, but Paul Townend had not asked his mount for maximum effort and when he did, Golden Silver quickened to inflict a three-and-a-half-length defeat on Edward O’Grady’s charge.

William Hill left the winner unchanged at 16-1 for the Queen Mother Champion Chase.
