Sunday meet at Wetherby called off

Sunday's meeting at Wetherby has been abandoned due to snow following a morning inspection.

The situation in North Yorkshire was irretrievable as conditions failed to show any discernible improvement throughout Christmas Day.

Clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson confirmed: "The snow hasn't shifted at all so I'm afraid the meeting is off.

"Although it got to 2C by around midnight, the track is frozen again."

Wetherby were also due to race on Boxing Day, but that fixture was abandoned on Christmas Eve.
