Officials at Wetherby have been forced to abandon their St Stephen's Day fixture with conditions showing no signs of improvement.

The West Yorkshire venue was hit by further snow on Wednesday night and clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson has decided to make an early decision.

“We’ve had to abandon the St Stephen's Day card as we had another four inches of snow overnight and the forecast is for more minus temperatures,” said Sanderson.

“Looking at conditions at the moment and also taking into account the forecast, there is no hope of conditions being raceable.”
