Thurles must inspect at 7.30am before giving tomorrow's fixture the go-ahead.

With overnight temperatures again set to plummet to well below freezing, course officials have adopted a pragmatic stance.

Racecourse manager Pierce Molony said: “We’re quite hopeful of the hurdle track, but we’d have to consider the chase track as being rather dodgy.

“We’ve put the two chase races last, but I’m not confident of the steeplechases at all.”
