This afternoon's meeting at Uttoxeter will go ahead as planned after surviving a second inspection.

An initial look an 8am proved inconclusive but a second check at 10am was enough to allow officials to give the meeting the green light.

Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen said: "Graham Lee (jockey) was there with us doing the inspection and he was pleased with what he saw.

"We've had no snow and we left the frost covers on the track as long as possible, and they have done their job.

"We are frantically taking them off now and we are pleased with what we are seeing underneath."
