Paddy chasing Navan prize
Paul Nolan is targeting Shinrock Paddy at Sunday's Barry & Sandra Kelly Memorial Novice Hurdle at Navan.
Like many other possible runners in the Grade One field, the gelding is also entered in the O'Connell Transport Cork Stayers Novice Hurdle on the same afternoon and he has another option at Cheltenham on Saturday.
But Nolan plans to have a crack at the main event after the smart bumper performer started off the new season by winning over hurdles at Punchestown in late October.
"Shinrock Paddy is going to the Barry & Sandra Kelly," said the Wexford trainer.
"It's a Grade One and a good chance to test himself against top horses. It's going to be a very good race."
Willie Mullins can choose from five of the 10-strong field. These are headed by the undefeated Fionnegas and Enterprise Park, Quel Esprit, Cadspeed and Rhyl Accord.
Mullins took the race last year with Mikael D'Haguenet, while among the remaining four who could prise the title away are promising types The Hurl and Summit Meeting.
