A man charged with the murders of two young jockeys who died in a fire at a flat was remanded in custody by magistrates today.

Peter Brown, 37, appeared at Scarborough Magistrates Court for a brief hearing accused of murdering promising apprentices Jamie Kyne, 18 and Jan Wilson, 19, on September 15 this year.
