Uttoxeter gets go-ahead

This afternoon’s meeting at Uttoxeter goes ahead after the track passed an inspection.

Clerk of the course Keith Ottesen had planned to check conditions at 7.30am, but he looked a little earlier after the track avoided the worst of the weather.

He said: “Everything is fine here, we got away with all the showers that were around yesterday and overnight as they seemed to be very isolated.

“We got a bit of light rain this morning, just about half a millimetre, but we are heavy, soft in places and it’s all systems go.”
