Gillies set for December return
Campbell Gillies could be back in competitive action in December despite his horrible accident at Aintree last Sunday.
Gillies, who is based with Kinross trainer Lucinda Russell, suffered broken ribs, a punctured lung and bruised kidney when he was hit by a horse as he was attempting to walk to safety after being unseated from his mount in a handicap hurdle.
Russell said: "I have spoken to Campbell today. He has been to the doctor, who has told him to do nothing for three weeks.
"Then he's going to come back to us and start riding out again. The doctor has told him he should be ready to return in about six weeks."
