Pipe waits on Bleu target
David Pipe is still weighing up the options before committing Tamarinbleu to Saturday's totetentofollow Old Roan Chase at Aintree.
The nine-year-old has failed to get his head in front since landing the Victor Chandler Chase in January 2008, but has run a number of creditable races in defeat.
Pipe reports his charge to be in fine fettle but is keen to leave a decision on his participation on Merseyside as late as possible.
"We haven't decided what we're going to do at the present moment, so we'll see what the ground is like and go from there," said the Pond House handler.
"He's in good form and schooled yesterday morning and jumped well, so we'll see what happens.
"I'm sure the ground would be fine for him what ever it is but he's probably better on better ground.
"If he doesn't run on Saturday, he could go to Wetherby for the Charlie Hall or run at Ascot on the same day, or he could go to Haydock for the Betfair Chase.
"He's got four or five options and we'll just try to pick the right one."
