Isn't That Lucky on the Gold trail

Former high-class novice Isn’t That Lucky is a possible for the Paddy Power Gold at Cheltenham on November 14 if all goes to plan on his seasonal return.

Trainer Jonjo O’Neill has the £150,000 handicap as an option for his six-year-old, who has won two of his six starts over fences and was a fine second in the Jewson Novices’ Chase at the Festival in March.

“Isn’t That Lucky was a novice last season and is a nice, big horse,” said O’Neill, speaking at a stable media day.

“He was second in the Jewson and ran very well there. He had a wind problem, but we put that right and he ran well at Stratford and in the Jewson.

“He goes to Liverpool for a two-and-a-half-mile, 0-135 handicap, or to Stratford depending on the ground, as long as it is not too fast or soft.

“Then I might well run him in the Paddy Power.

“Saphir Des Bois is also a possibility for the Paddy Power, but he likes soft ground and he might not get it at Cheltenham.”

O’Neill is a 50-1 chance with Paddy Power to be top trainer this season, while he is 4-6 to train a Festival winner.
