Kieren Fallon can see no reason why Sariska should not be competitive in her first race against the colts in Saturday’s Emirates Airline Champion Stakes at Newmarket.
Fallon struck up a fantastic partnership with Ouija Board when Ed Dunlop’s filly was at the top of her powers and capable of mixing it with the boys.
With Jamie Spencer suspended the former champion jockey has picked up a cracking spare ride aboard Michael Bell’s Sariska and believes she holds every chance – as long as the ground is not too quick.
“It’s always difficult for the fillies when they are taking on the colts, but she is exceptional,” said Fallon.
“Ouija Board was able to do it and I can’t see why this filly shouldn’t be able to either, as long as she gets her ground of course.
“There is not much rain around so I hope they put plenty of water on.
“She seems to act better with a bit of cut in the ground but it was fast at York when she was just beaten by Dar Re Mi by three-quarters of a length and I think that is good form.
“It should be decent ground, they are looking after it well and there is a good covering of grass. We walk across it when we go to work down there, it looks in good nick,” he told At the Races.
