Crowded House out of Champion Stakes

Crowded House has been ruled out of next month's Emirates Airline Champion Stakes as connections ponder whether to run the colt again this season.

Last year's Racing Post Trophy winner disappointed when sent off favourite for the Dante Stakes at York on his first outing of the season but was not disgraced when finishing sixth in the Derby at Epsom.

Trainer Brian Meehan had been eyeing an attempt at Newmarket's Group One prize on October 17 but he has now been scratched from the contest.

Jamie McCalmont, racing manager to part-owner Paul Reddam, said: "He's not going to be ready for the Champion Stakes but he will remain at Manton and we will see how it goes."
