Famous five in QEII clash
Rip Van Winkle and Delegator feature among just five horses declared for the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.
Rip Van Winkle opened his account in Group One company with a brilliant display in the Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood and is surprisingly joined by stablemate Mastercraftsman in this weekend’s feature.
Delegator, runner-up in the 2000 Guineas and the St James’s Palace Stakes, made a winning debut for Godolphin in the Celebration Mile on his latest outing.
William Haggas’ Prix du Moulin winner Aqlaam is the sole four-year-old in the line-up, while the field is completed by Celebration Mile runner-up Zacinto.
