Finjaan fired up

Finjaan is likely to go to France in a bid to redeem his reputation back over seven furlongs after finishing unplaced in the Betfred Sprint Cup today.

Finjaan, impressive winner of the Betfair Cup over the longer distance, could reappear in the Total Prix de la Foret at Longchamp on October 3.

A crack at Hayock's six-furlong Group One for the Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum-owned three-year-old colt did not go to plan as he was only eighth to Regal Parade.

"The Foret is the intention at this stage. Obviously I haven't had a conservation with Sheikh Hamdan about it yet," said trainer Marcus Tregoning.

"The only other possible race for him is the Challenge Stakes, but I think he'll probably go to France."
