The funeral is takes placing in Co Galway this morning of jockey Jamie Kyne who died in a fire in England almost two weeks ago.

The 18 year-old died along with another apprentice jockey, Jan Wilson from Scotland, when a fire swept through the block of flats where they lived in Yorkshire.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious.

His body was flown home on Thursday night and a candlelit vigil was held as it arrived at the family home in Kiltrogue, Claregalway.

Leading jockeys and trainers are expected to attend requiem mass at 11am in Lackagh Church with burial afterwards in Lackagh cemetery.
