Italian Tom on a roll at Sandown
Italian Tom is earning his keep for new connections and scooped his second race in seven days by making virtually all in the Buy A Racing Post Yearling Bonus Candidate Nursery at Sandown today.
Ron Harris had been keen to get his hands on the juvenile due to his relaxed nature, making a move for the colt after his second in a Yarmouth seller.
He picked up the speedy youngster for just 5,000 guineas, and his bargain-buy followed up a Kempton win last week with a bloodless length verdict over Drift And Dream.
Harris said after the 4-1 success: "That is very pleasing as I was concerned about the soft ground.
"It was a good effort with top weight. He has stuck on well and will get further.
"He has won two for me in a week now so we'll sit back and see what happens."
