Sariska scares off rivals

Sariska will face a maximum of six rivals when she goes in search of a third successive Group One success in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks next Thursday.

The daughter of Pivotal edged out Midday to win the Oaks at Epsom on her penultimate start before barely coming off the bridle to win the Irish equivalent.

Her chief rival at York next week would appear to be John Gosden’s Dar Re Mi, who was rewarded for a string of fine performances with victory in the Pretty Polly Stakes at the Curragh last time out.

Ballydoyle handler Aidan O’Brien is double-handed having left in both Roman Empress and Tamarind, while Henry Cecil’s Flame Of Gibraltar, Barshiba and Saphira’s Fire complete the confirmations.
