Dettori to appeal Salisbury ban
Frankie Dettori has decided to appeal against the four-day suspension he picked up at Salisbury on Thursday.
The Italian jockey was found guilty of careless riding after guiding Godolphin juvenile Frozen Power to success in the Carmen Wines Nursery, with the course stewards giving him a suspension running from August 26-29.
The Group Two totesport.com Celebration Mile takes place on the final of day of the suspension, a race mooted as a possible target for new Godolphin recruit Delegator, and Dettori’s agent Ray Cochrane has confirmed an appeal will be lodged.
“We are definitely going to appeal and that has to be done within 48 hours of the event,” said Cochrane.
“We all thought it was a very harsh decision.”
