Beauty O’Gwaun has had her final start for John Oxx after connections decided to send her across the Atlantic for a stud career.

The daughter of Rainbow Quest won a Group Three at Naas on her first start of the season in May but ran no sort of race in the Irish Oaks on her next outing.

“I’m afraid she just downed tools in the Irish Oaks and for some reason she didn’t want to run that day. She pulled herself up coming down the hill into the straight,” Oxx told At The Races.

“Maybe with it being her home track at the Curragh, maybe she knew where she was too much.

“She’s going to the States now and may race there a little bit but she is going there to go to stud, so we’re not persevering.”
