York amoung options for Cup hero

Godolphin are in no hurry to finalise plans for Schiaparelli following his victory in the Goodwood Cup.

A multiple Group One winner when trained in Germany, the six-year-old has lots of options over middle distances as well as in staying races.

Possible targets include the Weatherbys Insurance Lonsdale Cup at York on August 19, the Grosser Preis at Baden-Baden in early September and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe, in which he was unplaced last year.

"He's fine and has come out that race well," said Godolphin racing manager Simon Crisford.

"I don't know where he'll go next. He's entered in Germany and he'll be entered at York in the Lonsdale. We'll take a long-term view and make a plan closer to the time."

Meanwhile, Delegator is on target to have his first race under the Godolphin banner in the totesport.com Celebration Mile at Goodwood on August 30.

The 2000 Guineas runner-up joined Saeed bin Suroor from Brian Meehan's yard after finishing second to Mastercraftsman in the St James's Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot.

"He's on course for the Celebration Mile. That's the plan at the moment," confirmed Crisford.

However, there is still no definite comeback date for Flying Cloud, who was found to be lame after her victory in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Crisford said: "We don't have any plans for her at the moment, but she'll be back later in the season."
