Cumani confident on Curtain Call
Luca Cumani is confident Curtain Call will give a good account of himself in the Sky Bet York Stakes on Saturday.
The four-year-old was a decisive winner on his first outing of the campaign at the Curragh but failed to cut much ice on his next start in the Prix d’Ispahan at Longchamp.
His fine fourth in the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud last time was much more like it and Cumani is keeping his fingers crossed for some cut in the ground on the Knavesmire.
“The plan is for him to go to York and we were very happy with his run in France last time where he ran a very good race,” said Cumani.
“Things didn’t go right for him the time before at Longchamp and it was good to see him run much better at Saint-Cloud.
“He likes the ground to be good or good to soft, so hopefully he will get that at York and he will run a good race.”
