This afternoon’s meeting at Ripon goes ahead after the track passed a 7.30am inspection.

The North Yorkshire venue was hit by heavy rain on Friday but clerk of the course James Hutchinson reports the track to be raceable after conditions improved.

He said: “It dried up by about 8.30 or 9pm last night but we have had 62.5 millimetres of rain in the last 36 hours.

“A breeze got up which helped us out a bit and although a few showers are forecast, they should be nothing to worry about.”

The ground is described as soft, heavy in places.
