Campanologist flop baffling Godolphin
Campanologist’s below-par effort in the Princess of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket last week remains a mystery to connections.
The Group Two winner trailed in eighth of nine behind Doctor Fremantle when sent off second-favourite for the mile-and-a-half contest.
The colt holds an entry in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes on Saturday week but whether he takes up the Ascot engagement has yet to be decided.
“We will keep options open for him. After the race at Newmarket he was happy and sound, I couldn’t find any problem really with him. I was disappointed with him.” said trainer Saeed bin Suroor.
