Hat-trick of wins for Lordan

Wayne Lordan made it three in a row in the Jebel Ali Stables & Racecourse Anglesey Stakes aboard yet another smart juvenile, the Tommy Stack-trained Walk On Bye.

The somewhat unfashionable jockey made his mark in the Group Three event on Stack's Myboycharlie in 2007 and David Wachman's Bushranger last year, with the pair both progressing to top-level victories in the Prix Morny.

The Deauville Group One could well come into calculations for Walk On Bye, who despite lining up against a field of mostly colts, sprinted a comfortable length and three-quarters clear.

A narrow winner over the same six furlongs at the Curragh on Derby weekend, she carries the dark blue and white silks of MV Magnier, a junior member of the Coolmore dynasty.

Stack's son and assistant Fozzy said: "She's very good. She would have been a very unlucky loser here the last day as she didn't get a clear run.

"Her main target is the (Goffs) Million Sprinters race and she'll have one more run in between. The Phoenix Stakes in two weeks may come too soon but she's in the Lowther and there is the Prix Morny too.

"The Morny might be the most likely of the three and looking at her pedigree, I don't think she'll be going further than six (furlongs)."
