O'Brien gives Fame And Glory midsummer break

Fame And Glory will be given a midsummer break by Aidan O'Brien before being brought back to the track for the Irish Champion Stakes and the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe.

The Investec Derby runner-up capitalised upon the absence of Sea The Stars to thunder home in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby over the weekend, and will now be rested until the beginning of September.

O'Brien said: "We are going to give Fame And Glory a little break and then bring him back for the autumn, when the plan will be to run in the Irish Champion Stakes and the Arc."

Fame And Glory is a best-priced 6-1 shot to carry off the Paris showpiece on the first Sunday of October.

Four-time Ascot Gold Cup winner Yeats could well head back to the Berkshire track on July 25 for the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, while St James's Place Stakes scorer Mastercraftsman is in line for a step up in trip at York in August.

O'Brien added: "We are looking at the King George for either Yeats or Golden Sword, while Mastercraftsman is a possible for the Juddmonte International."
