Market Rasen cancel chases

Market Rasen will stage an all-hurdle card on June 26 as officials are not entirely satisfied with the state of the chase course.

Clerk of the course Nick Patton took the decision on Monday after inspecting the track and two new hurdle races as well as a bumper will now be added to the card in place of the three scheduled chases.

Patton said: “The drainage work has been successful but some of the areas have not seeded as well as we hoped.

“We want to be more than 100% happy with our racing surface and the extra time will allow us to carry out extra irrigation on the affected area.”
