Lesson In Humility takes Leopardstown prize

Lesson In Humility landed the spoils for trainer Karl Burke in the Group Three Ballyogan Stakes at Leopardstown today.

A Listed winner at Nottingham last time, the four-year-old was sent off the 2-1 favourite for her British-based trainer and jockey Andrew Elliott.

She settled in behind as Kalidaha cut out the early running but Elliott had his mount poised to challenge on the outside as they turned into the straight.

Lesson In Humility found plenty when asked to go about her business, coming home a length and three-quarters clear of San Sicharia with Maoineach back in third.

Burke said: "She is an improving filly.

"We have her entered in the Wokingham Handicap, but she will have a 5lb penalty for this victory so we will more likely run in the Group One Golden Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot."
