Ground key to Twice Over's Lockinge bid
Henry Cecil is keeping his fingers crossed conditions at Newbury do not become too fast ahead of Twice Over’s likely run in the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes on Saturday.
The four-year-old was a beaten odds-on favourite when third in the Earl of Sefton Stakes at Newmarket last month, but Cecil feels his charge can put up an improved showing if there is some give underfoot.
“Twice Over will go to the Lockinge as long as the ground is not too fast,” the trainer told his website, www.henrycecil.com.
“He seems well, and is a different horse when there is give in the ground.”
