Curragh on the agenda for Delegator

Delegator could bid for Classic compensation in the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh.

Delegator could bid for Classic compensation in the Boylesports Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh.

Brian Meehan’s charge was beaten just a length and a half by Sea The Stars in the Newmarket equivalent last week when sent off the 3-1 favourite.

The Manton trainer initially thought Delegator would skip the Curragh and head straight for Royal Ascot, but the Irish Classic is now back in the equation.

“He’s come out of it really well, he’s in tremendous shape. He looks good to me,” Meehan told BBC Sport.

“Ireland is now a consideration, we felt after Newmarket we shouldn’t go there but we will make a decision early next week.

“I would say he will stick to mile but he in the July Cup and that would not be out of the question.”
