Ellison trio up for the Chester Cup
Brian Ellison has a treble chance of glory in the totesport.com Chester Cup tomorrow.
Leading the Malton handler’s charge is Tilt, who was third behind shock winner Bulwark in the Roodee marathon 12 months ago.
“He’s 4lb higher than last year,” said Ellison.
“He’s got a good chance, he’s had a prep run at Epsom but he doesn’t like it there.
“He’s in great fettle and in good form with himself.
“We know he acts round there, so it looks good, and we’ve got a good jockey (Ryan Moore) on board.”
Carte Diamond is also well equipped, having been placed in two previous visits to the track.
“He’s run two cracking race at Chester last year in the Ormonde, and in a Listed race when he just got beat, so he obviously goes well round there,” Ellison continued.
“He ran well last time, he’s in great fettle, so I’m very hopeful.”
Dunaskin’s prospects have been hindered by being drawn on the wide outside in stall 17.
“He’s got a shocking draw but one thing I can say about him is he breaks well and could get across. A wide draw does make it harder round there, though,” Ellison added.
