Delegator has been given the go-ahead to take his chance in the stanjames.com 2000 Guineas at Newmarket this afternoon.

Brian Meehan had been concerned earlier in the week that the ground might be too fast for the son of Dansili, but the Manton trainer has given his charge the go-ahead to run after walking the course this morning.

“The ground is quick but the groundstaff have done a good job and I would say that it is genuine good to firm ground,” Meehan told his website www.brianmeehanatmanton.com.

“It is a little bit better the further down the track you go, but really it is pretty much as we expected and we are definitely going to run.”

One horse who will not be going to post for the colts’ Classic is Henry Cecil’s On Our Way after he was declared a non-runner due to the ground.
