Fantasia among Gwyn hopefuls
Fantasia, one of last season’s leading juvenile fillies, makes her seasonal reappearance in the Leslie Harrison Memorial Nell Gwyn Stakes at Newmarket on Wednesday.
The Luca Cumani-trained three-year-old won her first two starts before chasing home Rainbow View in the Fillies’ Mile at Ascot.
In opposition is Mick Channon’s highly-regarded Dunes Queen, winner of a Kempton maiden last month.
“I think she’s a good filly but Newmarket will tell us how good. She’s been working well but it will be a big step up,” Channon told his website.
Bryan Smart runs Summer Fete, winner of two of her three starts with her sole defeat coming in Group company, Clive Brittain runs the once-raced Kaabari while John Gosden relies on Wajaha.
Arabian Mirage, Damaniyat Girl, Fazbee, First City, Misdaqeya and Smokey Ryder complete the 11-runner field.
