Scintillo camp play it cool

Connections of Scintillo are in no rush to make any future plans after he secured his second victory within a week in the sportingbet.com Winter Derby at Lingfield.

Richard Hannon’s son of Fantastic Light got his head in front for the first time in 17 months at Kempton on Wednesday night and followed up with a narrow defeat of Premio Loco in Saturday’s Group Three.

Having won over a mile and a half and 10 furlongs on his last two starts, assistant trainer Richard Hannon jnr believes there will plenty of options for the four-year-old.

“He’s had a lead out this morning and has come out of the race fine,” said Hannon jnr.

“He travelled very well and Richard (Hughes) gave him a very good ride.

“We have no plans yet, we will just get this out of the way and have a chat with the owners in a couple of weeks.”
