Stan doubtful for National

Stan could bypass the John Smith’s Grand National in favour of a trip to the Land of the Rising Sun.

The 10-year-old, trained by Venetia Williams, still holds an entry at Aintree on April 4, but connections are considering accepting an invitation for the Grand Nakayama Jump in Japan two weeks later.
