Noel Meade won his second williamhill.com Supreme Novices’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival when Go Native stayed on grimly up the hill to fend off Medermit.
In true Paul Carberry style, he travelled fantastically well into the race and probably ended up in front quicker than he would have wanted to turning into the straight.
The 12-1 chance shot clear approaching the last and appeared to have the race in the bag before Alan King’s Medermit flew home to claim second, with Somersby third.
