Sedgefield's Sunday meet called off

Sunday's meeting at Sedgefield has been abandoned due to a frozen track.

Clerk of the course Charlie Moore inspected the venue at 2.30pm today and although conditions had improved, the course is still unraceable.

He said: "The situation is that we have solid landings and take-offs and about 20% of the course is frozen solid.

"Although conditions have improved and will improve, it will not be sufficient to enable us to race.

"Local trainer John Wade was with me when we inspected and agreed."
