Uttoxeter take a look

Uttoxeter will stage a precautionary inspection at 8.30am on Saturday ahead of their afternoon meeting.

Officials at the track had an initial look on Friday morning and while the track passed that check, clerk of the course Keith Ottesen feels it prudent to inspect again due to the threat of frost.

He said: “At the moment we are heavy but raceable and we didn’t get as much rain as forecast overnight, so we are quite pleased.

“We are forecast overnight temperatures of minus two or three which should be fine as the course is covered and not affected by frost currently.

“However, we think it’s best just to have a precautionary check.”
