Frosty Fakenham in the balance

Friday’s fixture at Fakenham is in jeopardy.

Officials at the Norfolk circuit have called a 3pm inspection due to lingering concerns about frost and snow.

Clerk of the course David Hunter intimated a second assessment at 6.30am on Friday morning will also be necessary.

He said: “It got to minus-three degrees overnight and I don’t think we’d be racing today.

“There’s a light covering of snow and some frost is in the ground.

“We will assess conditions this afternoon, but I’m convinced we’ll be having another inspection first thing in the morning.”
