Tuesday's card at Newcastle in doubt
Prospects for Tuesday’s meeting at Newcastle look bleak after course officials called an 8am inspection on Monday morning.
Frost is putting the National Hunt fixture at Gosforth Park in serious jeopardy.
“We have had a frost for six consecutive days and, at the moment, it’s hard to be optimistic,” said clerk of the course James Armstrong.
“Temperatures got down to minus-six degrees on Saturday night and the forecast is not favourable either.
“It’s possibly not going to be as cold during the next couple of nights, but it is still enough to warrant concern.”
