Ayr delay inspection

Ayr have put back their inspection from 1pm to 4pm today to see if the track has thawed to give them hope of staging tomorrow’s meeting.

“It’s not entirely thawed, but it’s still sunny here and four degrees,” said clerk of the course Katherine Self.

“I am delaying the inspection until 4pm to have a final look at the track before the weather drops tonight.

“When I spoke to the Met Office they were looking at a fairly clear night with a frost, so I’m not that optimistic. It would need to be properly thawed out today to have any chance tomorrow.”
