Taunton stands firm to Arctic snap
This afternoon’s National Hunt fixture at Taunton has beaten the wintry conditions and goes ahead as scheduled.
Officials at the Somerset venue delivered the uplifting news upon inspecting the track this morning.
Clerk of the course Michael Trickey said: “We had light overnight snow, with minimum temperatures not even getting to minus-one degrees.
“Even poking around in the dark this morning, it was pretty positive news.
“The going (heavy, soft in places) is hardly pristine, but at least we are racing.”
